Yay, it's the book fair tomorrow!
I wish I didn't need to do these corporate translations. They're utterly boring and feel so unnecessary.
Yet it's not that easy to generate other sources of income to offset these. It's not impossible, but at the moment not realistic either. The good thing is that I'm not tied to these in any contractual way — if I had another source of income, I could just say no to these jobs right away.
Maybe one day...
Instead I still have to rot in Finland until at least next summer, dammit.
Welcome to the #jediverse*!

Oh how I wish I lived in Utrecht already.
@gannet I should be working, but this tool is just too interesting... https://www.eurail.com/en/plan-your-trip/eurail-timetable
As flight travel has its downsides, I just out of curiosity searched how one could travel by train from Stockholm to Utrecht (and obviously first by ferry to Stockholm before that).
The travel times (without ferry from Finland, so just the trains) ranged between 16 and 24 hours, requiring between 4 to 9 train changes.
Suddenly I got extremely excited by that. Ok, it's terribly slower than flying, there's terribly many changes and it probably costs terribly more than flying.
But still, that's how I'd like to travel there one day.
@soma me most nights: I only have 100 pages left, I can finish this before bed
also me most nights: shit it's 5am already, shouldn't have finished this tonight
I had a nightmare. In the dream my Mastodon instances and the fediverse had turned into similar aggressive shitstorm as twatter has been for ages. I felt utterly despaired.
Luckily it was just a dream.
Quite often English-speaking people misspell my name as 'Tara'.
I wonder if there would be less misspellings if I wrote my name as 'Tarou'.
That would also hint people how it should be pronounced, if it's otherwise too difficult to comprehend...
(Also, perhaps I should write my last name as 'Loyola' so people would get it correct too.)
@gannet It could work, depending on the technology I suppose.
Most obvious hurdle could be that by moving air in front of the bike the air resistance would grow so that more physical power would be needed to push the bike, but perhaps that can be avoided by directing the air properly.
But still, I have a soft spot for all kinds of cycling contraptions. :)
@gannet This part is exceptionally happy and hilarious: ”Smog Free Bicycle: a contraption that circulates the air in front of the user so that they can travel in a relatively smog-free bubble of clean air.”
@naikodemus Thank you for the info. I had to order the deck right away. :)
This pic is on joinmastodon.org. I find it endlessly hilarious. https://witches.town/media/IkizaKtDerYXLIimF4M
