My chance to witch around at the carnival

@morganastra Exactly. If the passenger knows they and only they could be in danger, it would be in their interest to demand as safe vehicles as possible.
@Sylvhem It certainly is!
@agaric I've actually done that when I've been at my lowest.
Spoiler: didn't find anything that would have helped.
food, cake, cats Afficher plus
I should go and buy some cake dressings. Not my specialty really, but I guess it turns out to be edible in any case.
@alyx Well that's actually a bit random point of this whole issue. You can never know in advance if a particular software uses device binded keys or soft binded keys, and different OSes behave differently on this issue too. Better to expect almost anything.
@alyx Speed gain is just reasonal to expect, when a keyboard is designed to minimise movement and delay between key presses.
@alyx I switched to a dvorak-inspired DAS keyboard 12 years ago and haven't regretted.
My typing speed was slow for about three weeks during when I was practicing, but after that my speed got better than before switching.
The main benefit has been less strain and pain on hands.
Now when I must type QWERTY (very rarely indeed), I'm quite slow and must concentrate, but in any case it's not impossible and all the keyboards have QWERTY letters anyway so you can always check what you are typing.
So I'd say go for it. (But choose Dvorak and not DAS, because DAS is optimised for Finnish.)
Ok so I'm baking a cake. The instruction is to bake 40 min at 175 °C. After 30 min I noticed that the temperature was just 125 °C.
So may need to bake a little longer then...
Hope this is not completely spoiled now.
I thought I could change my avatar to the colour version here too.
@BadWrongFun That always hurts. Similar home channel deaths have happened for me in IRC many times over ten years.
Now that I'm in Discord and actively running a few servers I hope it won't happen again, but really all odds are that it will happen at some point.
I should have got used to it by now, as everything in life is in constant flux. But still it always hurts.
@lain I'm that lady who can't see anything behind their backs.
Fun fact of the day: 12 hours in a train can get pretty boring.
@nora there is sometimes delay on federated timelines. Now that your toots arrived, there shouldn't be any reason to suspect muting. I don't know how the toots are polled between instances but it may very well be that mentions are forwarded at different times than general public toots.
@nora a few days ago someone on another instance took some Aldi's words quite hard, after which witches.town was muted on that instance's fed timeline. But that instance was not mastodon.social. So either there has been some new reasons for this or the drama is still contagious. I'm not an expert on this issue though.
@nora is there some kind of witch hunt going on?
@kara_dreamer definitely not the same. I've only read a handful of ebooks, I need the physical books to cover our walls.
@kara_dreamer Oh dear, forced sell of books sounds horrible!
