@nex3 That's how I started to live five years ago, when the opportunity showed itself. Before that I was always tired and sleep deprived. Nowadays my sleeping pattern is quite stable, certainly several hours off the generally favoured morning pattern, but not completely nocturnal. So at least for me the sleeping pattern adjusted and settled and didn't keep rotating forever.

I'd like to say that I really appreciate that the "write something" prompt on a.weirder.earth is "Remember: people never forget how you made them feel."

There is a lot to be said for the efficacy of social affordances in preventing problems.

If you're interested in my thoughts on books, you'd better follow my other account on @Stoori (I'll probably leave booky topics out from my toots on this instance).

@ThatDamnCat A new environment is always a new start. If someone is not ready or willing to have a new start, they probably won't stick around.

@ruth FUN FACT: In Finnish slang the word for bat, 'lepakko', means lesbian. So yeah, why not appreciating some bat friends. 👭

@ghostofshel It's been like 23 years since I last time had a short hair. 😱 So nothing to do lightly here. It's easier to move abroad than to get a haircut. 😁

@ghostofshel Hey, this looks good! I mean, I've thought about short hair myself, but it's quite a change and cannot be undone in any reasonable timeframe, so it's good to see nice examples. And looks like we have quite similar noses, too.

But anyway, I probably should still wait before haircut, because I've also thought to go back to my natural hair colour, and it hasn't grown enough yet.

I guess the fediverse has doubled in size after I queried this last time, so once again:

Do we yet have people from or people who speak (a.k.a. ) on this fediverse?

@Sassie Linguee is good, but I've noticed that Glosbe also accesses the same TM content, so in practice Glosbe is Linguee plus extra dictionary.

Tatoeba is a new thing to me, I'm curious to have a look.

Hey everyone learning languages! Have you heard of Glosbe? It's a free multilingual dictionary with example contexts from public sources. There are several free dictionaries, but in my experience Glosbe is the one to use. Have a look!

@sempervirenx I guess it's just a polysemous word, that is, has both meanings (and perhaps some more).
