@soma ”Read a lot of books” is an answer by someone who reads a lot of books (and because of that their theoretical knowledge is admired and they are seen as a leader or authority, thus having authority to say ”read a lot of books (and become like me)” in the first place).
It stems from the general fallacy that one solution fits all. It doesn't take in account the personal strengths and weaknesses of individual persons.
And many people saying so have just the weakness that they don't see their own strengths as personal strengths but as general qualities of human beings.
