I feel weird at just sorta accepting that a Discord I kinda thought of as my online "home" for a while just sorta slowly died...
Like I dunno maybe it was person starting it focusing on streaming, and kinda evolving into its own community.
Maybe we just ran out of shit to say.
Maybe there was drama shit going on that I didn't know about that made people leave.
I dunno.
But it still feels like I lost something important and safe, especially since Twitter/Masto doesn't really do groups as well as irc/chat rooms.
@BadWrongFun That always hurts. Similar home channel deaths have happened for me in IRC many times over ten years.
Now that I'm in Discord and actively running a few servers I hope it won't happen again, but really all odds are that it will happen at some point.
I should have got used to it by now, as everything in life is in constant flux. But still it always hurts.
