We should get rid of UTF-8 and UTF-32, use CESU-8 and CESU-32 instead. Why? Because then we get to treat U+10000 to U+10FFFF as a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ENCODING from U+0000 to U+FFFF!

It also creates precedent for expanding unicode through upper planes, say 100000 to 10FFFF encoded surrogate pairs for 2^30 new codepoints!

Quick idea: "followers-of" visibility, using a public stream on the account but not (directly) exposing it on the client API. Replies can use it with the OP and that solves issues with "followers-only" visibility. #mastoadmins

#unpopular opinion: I think we should get rid of monolithic crypto (OpenSSL) and use modular crypto. It's up to the user to provide what they want, not the lib.

I want things like register_tls_exchange("ECDHE-ECDSA", ecdhe_ecdsa_adapter); and stuff. I want trivial wrapper libs that simply combine all those smaller libs and make it look monolithic but each smaller lib can be developed independently. I want those pseudo-monolithic libs to support explicitly disabling some forms of crypto at compile-time.

If you complain that those show up in anonymized DNS logs and SNI is plaintext, perhaps you might wanna fix those instead? at least SNI should be fixed...

Please use subdomains for logged in users (e.g. soniex2.example.org if soniex2 is currently logged in). Also allow multiple logins through that same mechanism.
