@grainloom I've updated it. Goal is to eat middle-of-thread replies which have nothing to do with you.
For example if you look at how I got to see your toot:
- I'm following you, and Jo, but not anyone else
- You replied to Jo's reply. Because I follow Jo, and I also follow you, the algorithm added your reply to Jo to my home feed. It doesn't care whether I ever saw Jo's reply, it'll still show me your reply.
- My algorithm would keep this from happening, with a few bonus features for ppl who like to comment on boosts.
@ashkitten Maybe I didn't look into it far enough, but from the commits I've seen it doesn't affect home feed?
@ashkitten I believe that only affects notifications, not home feed.
@grainloom @Jo @lizardsquid @ashkitten @LottieVixen Oh god it just keeps going, too. Please support https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/6304 so I'm not forced to keep reading your mid-way conversations.
@Jo @grainloom @lizardsquid @ashkitten @LottieVixen This toot (which I am replying to) should never have appeared on my home feed.
Support https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/6304 to keep this from happening agian.
TIL about Standard Notes.
End-to-end. Audited. Open source. Cloud-synced. Free tier that gives you Just The Notes. Hell, you can self-host if you want to.
Seriously considering making 3 mastodon accounts just for proof of concept stuff...
Still hate mastodon. Make sure your followers follow me so I can show them why. (Ofc, I can't show you why.)
@kara Oh. Boosts are already optional. But you still get to see "LB: <garbage about something you never saw>" stuff. I'm trying to fix that + add some more social stuff around boosting.
@kara So we should ban talking to ppl about things you didn't 100% come up with on your own, got it.
@kara focus on conversation, they said
@Jo archlinux is supposed to come with everything. If it doesn't: a) that's a bug b) AUR makes kernel builds easy
@Azure federated search engines with instances that block Pinterest when
@Jo headphones exist so you can do ~things~ at night.
and I've always had audio out coming back through audio in if you amplify/boost it enough...
@grainloom there are no limits to ships.
