Could someone tell me how to deal with chronic nail biting ?

No personal exp, but i've heard there's like, nail polish that tastes bad so you apply it and don't bite them as much. (This may be for animals? I'm a farmer and I can't remember where I heard abt this)
Or like, maybe make yr own with like, dried spicy pepper flakes and just put on polish to seal it on.
Maybe use several coats of clear polish to make them thick and unpleasant to chew on?
@goatmoat Thanks for answering! I think my parents told me about this a long time ago, but I always thought that was some kind of joke to scare me aha. However I suppose there are very few solutions, I should consider trying this one if it does exist
