"Just tell us!" cries out one of the guests. "Is it a boy or a girl?"

The host casts a gaze around the room, studying each guest in turn. Some grow nervous, some belligerent.

"Very well," says the host. "I will tell you the answer."

The guests murmur in anticipation, but are startled into silence as the host abruptly points at Jay, their cousin.

"Gender is dead! And YOU are the murderer!"

A woman shrieks. The party disintegrates into chaos.

i love the idea of *slightly* magical objects. like a knife that doesn't ever cut your fingers accidentally, a mug that holds 10% more liquid than it should.
