Oh god. This must be some pure evil black magic. There's a comment somewhere on a line. It looks like the whole line was copy-pasted because there's the same on another line, and it doesn't match what it's next to, like

number_of_people # amount_paid

Guess what ? Somehow, in the output of the script, I get the value from the amount_paid field at the corresponding location. Yes, '#' is actually a start-of-comment and not some hackish binary operator. This is just impossible. Very impossible actually.
