Wow. Finally gave OpenWRT that long overdue try and… Wow. It's amazing. It's so simple to install, it works flawlessly out of the box. I could probably figure everything I needed from the ash shell over dropbear but there's even a web interface (which I'm not a huge fan of) that allowed me not to waste too much time understanding that dropbear wanted its authorized_keys in /etc/dropbear, not in /root/authorized_keys. The only thing I could want to criticize now is that the web interface added my key in 644 mode, which is not a safe default.
