Alice @Sasha

How I hate software gurus thinking they blow your mind because in their system the equivalent of a basic task is completely different and then they repeat as much as they can that «you have to think differently» and that «you don't just <do something>» with their approach. But even though you're perfectly aware of it and you completely master the concept behind because come on people it's really not that complicated, sorry but you're no geniuses, you can't find nowhere the actual description of what to do and if what you attempt doesn't work you'll never be able to find useful help.
You hear me, gurus ? I hate you.

@Sasha that type of "guru" (ugh, what a gross appropriative use of that word, huh?) is very common in workplaces, I feel. they're people who've learned the details of needlessly intricate, roundabout procedures that rely heavily on what I'll call "folk wisdom" (i.e. information that's not documented anywhere but that gets passed around verbally) and then set themselves up as gatekeepers of this knowledge like it were the inner secrets of a mystery cult.
