@starbreaker I made a workaround of categorizing people into things like "good to have fun", "good to talk about feelings", "good to talk about videogames and nothing else". So I don't trust anyone wholly, but I don't mistrust everyone either.

@starbreaker this has been insightful. I think I might do the same for similar reasons. The people who kicked me when I was down are out of my life, but sometimes I act as if other people aren't different from them.

@brunodias this happens to me whenever I'm playing hotline miami.

I am not sure if our cat was a princess or a newscaster in her last life but she has strong opinions and is good at communicating them.

We were promised the possibility of crushing gender under our cold uncaring cyborg boots, but instead we got Netflix and chill: a memoir

@pixelpaperyarn let's see.
If this is universal I will be super excited.

@pfq what's your earliest memory?
Have you ever been to a funeral? What do you think of those? What is it that you do there?
Which are the things that make you laugh? What about the ones that break your heart?
Do you have conversations with yourself often?
Do you have a power animal? Do you have a favorite character from saint seiya?

Any story about fucked up weirdos who care deeply for each other despite society rejecting them is going to pull at my heartstrings.

Today I made a raspberry pi glitch camera using python. It takes a photo every 0.5sec and glitches it. I think it worked pretty well!

I'll open source it eventually.

Library used for glitches:

Here are some example images it generated:

humans: everybody work as hard as you can, and when winter comes, we'll have enough food for everyone, even the little ones who can't farm so good yet
capitalists: *takes the farmland and rents it back to the farmers*
capitalists: This is the superior system because of human nature. It simply isn't human nature for each person to work according to their ability and receive food according to their needs. Humans are naturally greedy.
little human: *dies*

I'm binging on a lot of Revolutionary Girl Utena as research for a VN I'm making. I forgot how good it is.

@tcql @benhamill Agreed. I think most discussions on choices in games get caught up obsessing over consequence and miss the simple fact that humans, like, really like expressing their feelings. I honestly can think of few games outside bioware that just... Ask how you feel with such frequency. It's therapeutic and affirming. I'm working on an essay on DA:I concerning this kinda thing right now.

@pixelpaperyarn GUIs for git scare me because I see git as an angry and unforgiving god who will do bad things you didn't ask it to do if you use a GUI. But this is clearly a matter of me being really superstitious about it.

GUIs are nice in general.

@pixelpaperyarn git always counts as terminal for me and the VC goodies boil down to "Oh, so you're showing me the things I changed? Nice", because it feels really cumbersome to branch, pull, commit and so on with a graphical UI.

So most built in terminals are fine, unless you need to pull some hackers shit and by that point terminator is the only one that cuts it for me.

Making friends with strangers online is fun because if any are stabby they can't stab you so you can keep being friends.

The price for having all the ideas I had today was missing my bus stop and having one of the cats obliterating my instant noodles. My partner made me real soup afterwards, so I guess that one evens out.

@Alda I agree with having bots as long as they're art bots.
