Still waiting to hear from Lambda Legal regarding what to do about the Department of State's utter refusal to issue me a correctly gendered passport.

Simply as a courtesy, I let the local organization know what's up. I made it very clear that I wasn't asking for anything, just offering information (a copy of what was sent to me) if they want it.

One troubling thing: when I went to the writing center's calendar to double check the starting date for the worldbuilding class, I could not find it.

Waiting to hear back from them. Hoping that it was taken down because the class was full, not because it was cancelled...

On a related note, one of the local orgs I was looking at has a web site straight out of 1994 >_<;

*That* I would not volunteer to fix. But if they had enough budget to *pay* me...

Just met with my ARMHS worker. Starting to think of the whole "what does work look like"?

I anticipate I will need to make a "day job" out of writing copy. In order to get clients, I'm going to need a portfolio and probably some job history.

Had the idea: reach out to local LGBTQ+ organizations to see if they have any needs I can provide for. E.g. editing newsletters, writing for their web sites, etc.

As it happens, Saturday, a local Queer-focused library is hosting a resource fair...in which a heaping handful of these very organizations will be participating.

The Stars are shining brightly for me of late!

ARMHS worker should be here in about an hour. Lots to update on.

Got to schedule another lab, whee.

Trying to get on an earlier, more regular schedule. Mixed results so far.

Need to start working on work. Web site, portfolio, maybe a blog?

Also, need to come up with strategies to differentiate "work time" from "play time". And figure out what "work" looks like until I get some clients.

Yeah, the latest nerve impingement seems to be improving, already!

I'm still being *real* careful with my back, of course. The underlying problems have yet to be addressed; the last week has been *all* about acute care.

Really, really lucked out with the timing on this, TBH. Preventative care turned into acute care just in the nick of time, and now I have 5 more sessions of PT scheduled to work on *healing*.

Luck? Actually, maybe not. I think I'm just *that* aware of my body that I knew something was going on. The lucky part was just... things going acute just before I started PT, as opposed to afterward.

Now I can shift to other things and start winding down, f'reals.

Well since I have only a vague idea of when my meds will be delivered (within the next 4 hours), I don't want to attempt writing; that is something that doesn't really lend itself to interruption, for me.

So I guess I'll putter at covering buttons in fabric for my "pirate" costume.

Oh frack. I'd forgotten that I have a medication delivery scheduled this evening.

That kind of constrains when, possibly *if*, I get a shower in. Blah.

Welp. I have consumed one (1) cup of kukicha, a.k.a. "twig tea".

*Hopefully* this will provide just enough caffeine to let me hygiene and recover some productivity, without completely hecking up my sleep schedule.

Remains to be seen, however. Caffeine takes a little bit to do its thing.

Meanwhile, I have turned on my icky fluorescent overheads, on the theory that more light will help promote wakefulness.

Hecate. I'm gonna go make some tea. This fog is just too thick, and it would be rather silly to just go back to sleep right now.

I am annoyingly tempted to make a cup of coffee or tea to fight the brain fog. But I'm afraid, at this point, it would mess up my sleep... ∑:s

I do want to hygiene today, but at the moment my room is kind of cold?

So, I don't really want to strip down right now.

Aaaand... I'm bored.

Not in the mood to continue on "The Predestined Monkey" at the moment. It's just a practice piece off a random writing prompt. My investment in it is almost zilch.

Of course, I *could* use this moment to practice "writing when I'm not enthused". But I think I'm still a bit brain foggy and that means "just do it" is likely to be a futile exercise.

Should I brainstorm other ideas? Should I, IDK... do something else?
