You *might* be able to do without the diatomaceous earth, but IME it really helps.

When I moved into my current apartment, there was a surprise infestation, so I had to research this stuff & take action. Whee.

(I knew it was fleas and not bedbugs, though, b/c my exes' outdoor cat got them & *I* was the one who got bitten.)

@Fidgetcetera First, flea killer gel, which you dab onto the scruff of their necks, where they can't lick it off.

(A dab of butter on a paw can help distract them.)

Next, get some diatomaceous earth and dust masks. Sprinkle that on all carpeted surfaces & upholstery. Then vacuum up thoroughly. (You might want to isolate the kitties from dusting & vacuuming.)

Lastly, wash all your clothes & bedding.

That should take care of the fleas & their eggs.

@Qwyrdo BTW don't get *too* excited about my supernumeraries. They just look like pink moles a few cm above my "real" ones.

This is actually a quite common manifestation. Usually, bodies recognize "hey, we don't need those!" before they develop fully.

My boobs! They have four nipples.
Four nipples have my boobs.
And if they don't have four nipples,
Then they are not my boobs!

The nice thing about my brew is that, other than the echinacia, you don't have to worry about metabolic conflicts. And those with echinacia are pretty mild, I think.

Other compatible herbs, like yucca root, require a bit more caution & understanding of drug interactions. So I *always* encourage other herbally inclined folks to *do their research*. WebMD is a great tool for this.
