OK so I think I'm *finally* getting halfway decent at sewing buttonholes? The front is looking fairly neat, and the back is only looking moderately sloppy.

So far, just have half of one of the waistband buttons done. It's OK that it's not perfect; this is a part of my costume no one should, in theory, ever see!
