Even though I can only seem to focus on this story a short bit at time, I'm rather enjoying it?

Specifically, trying to put myself in the mindset of an intelligent chimpanzee. Exploring what he likes, what he doesn't like.

I'm also using some carefully chosen word order and vocabulary in conveying Al's sign language. I know enough ASL to have a sense of its grammar (which is quite different from English).

Between that and narrator commentary, I think I'm doing a pretty good job of conveying Al as a person. One who thinks and acts in ways that are *almost* human, but not quite.
