Whoops. I'm either bored, a little brain foggy, or both; all of a sudden I ran out of writing steam.

Was starting a short story entitled "The Predestined Monkey" (blame Writing Excuses for that prompt). Yes, one of the characters is a monkey, specifically an intelligent chimpanzee named Al. Yes, he is predestined. No, neither he nor the scientists about to experiment on him know that.

(And yes, let's just assume Al is intelligent to the point where "informed consent" becomes possible.)
