having an argh. I bought some nice yarn. handspun. I think it's core spun silk or a silk merino blend. but I t has so much active twist still and is very thick and uneven and fluffy in some spots. have crocheted and unravelled swatches in single, double and lovers knot but the first two come out very stiff and the later looks really wonky and amateur ish. wondering if I should make it into a bag or something but the fluff will catch and molt on anything. any advice? #fibrearts #crochet #yarn
@Yaarnvark not sure about stitch suggestions, but you could steam the yarn to help tame the twist.
@Yaarnvark (I’d recommend soaking it, but without knowing the fiber content, it’s hard to recommend that for certain.)
@Yaarnvark @gannet My instinct says yes, otherwise the steam might not penetrate evenly. But I know less than either of you on this bit of fibre arts!

Method 2: http://www.ascatteredcreative.com/reusing-yarn.html
(The reasons for steaming are different, but the methods will still work.)
@Qwyrdo @Yaarnvark I would probably put it back in skeins for the purpose. If you don’t have some sort of skein winder, the end of a table often works pretty well.
