@sim I totally get that thought - in this space, it seems less political than other spaces- more specifically, the content warning is used like "this might bum someone out OR it's totally something that someone is interested so I'll tag it with a relevant header" - in essence it's more consideration than politics- like, we all know the world's on fire and it's worth talking about but also exhausting to be bombarded with
There is no music more current than Godspeed You! Black Emperor albums from the late 90's
So I'm on a cyberpunk social media network to distract myself while facing social dystopia levels of traffic while using a cyberpunk dystopia ride sharing service with a rogue jockey who zigzags through traffic #shittycyberpunk
@b Instead of "toot" the button says pedal-to-the-metal and the post itself is a "vroom"

@b Let's jinx it/toot it/ping it and see what happens.
I'm pretty emotional and technologically advanced for a Glitch.
@b I just learned that because I don't drive cars but I believe you!
@Azurolu Reply All did a really good podcast that explains it way better than I ever could. Pepe has sort of been appropriated as an alt right symbol to the point that the ACLU registered him as a hate symbol but his creator is torn apart about it and trying to counteract the nastiness with as many kind Pepes as possible
@b You are really level headed for a Floran.
"Why should political posts be tagged?"
Some people simply wish to be mentally prepared for news. As well, some people may wish to go to Mastodon so they can escape from the news. Honestly, it doesn't matter why, just be respectful to other people's wishes since tagging political posts is quite easy.
@arieleon it is the shining cyberpunk BBS in an IRL dystopic hellscape of my dreams
and everyone is queer
so, yes for me and yes for you
@arieleon I've only seen one straight cis person and I only knew because they were apologizing for it
people are saying they don't want politics on mastodon but to a certain extent mastodon, and by extension posting and being on it, feels like an inherently political statement.
I dig that everyone tags their politics talk because it really makes this feel like a way less stressful place to hang out on the internet
