Some people simply wish to be mentally prepared for news. As well, some people may wish to go to Mastodon so they can escape from the news. Honestly, it doesn't matter why, just be respectful to other people's wishes since tagging political posts is quite easy.

@Puck every notification sound is the sound of a car speeding off (everyone disables notification sounds because its so loud)
@Puck For all I know, cars could just not have a mile meter or it could just expand infinitely, because I don't drive cars either. I just heard it from somewhere.
