Just think, when our parents were young, they had to communicate using messages cut into real mastodons. Technology is amazing.

Apparently some people are putting the check by their names to indicate its' the primary instance of their self (vs. just being faux-verified)? I guess this makes some sense but why would you do that when you could add, say, your own version of a bat and a squid?

it's so bizarre that everyone's judgment of mastodon's success uses the same rubric as twitter's success.

for me, marginalized ppl feeling loved, cared for, and supported in a radical, restorative space is a success and I don't think forbes will ever understand that

Fiction is full of these stories of reconciliation and hope, but in reality I find them much rarer. People cling to finality because it means not having to take a pride hit.

But rarely drawing lines in the sand means you eat a lot of pain, and *too* much pain will cause a dulling of whatever was worth reconciling over.

Any UK based indie game devs of colour out there? I'm putting together a mini con on 21st May for an afrofuturist festival and would love to have more indie games represented :)
