as LB points out, i just added a rule to cybrespace's short list of additions to the flagship instance's content guidelines:

if you post art here, you gotta credit the original author (or yourself, if it's your art!) -- artists deserve to have their work connected back to them when lots of people see it!

a link to the artist's site will do, or if that's not possible, the best short description of them you can find (e.g. Vincent Van Gogh, 19th century painter)

Can't be gay on Tumblr, can't swear on Twitter, we move to Mastodon

Remember : if you care for decentralized services & social networks, be there soon, and make a small effort to regularly post *interesting*, *insightful*, *funny* things on your account.

This will drive more people to these alternatives, and (hopefully) kill the network effect that prevent previous ones to take off.
