Is anyone else not a big fan of the trans pride flag? I find the baby blues and pinks kinda off-putting in a binarist way?

@squinky
I always thought the white stripe was like neutral space for us enbies.

@PlanetaryKnight Yeah, but it also comes with the implication that enby == an in-between state, which is not always accurate.

@squinky @PlanetaryKnight i do appreciate that white is completely open-ended and that the blue and pink aren't explicitly associated with particular genders (since they have swapped places over the years) but the positioning is weird for sure. colors "inside" other colors implies some weird things if you think too hard.

@bug @squinky
Yeah that's true too. Tbh I never really thought about it a lot?

@PlanetaryKnight @bug I mean for me, it's more that I have this visceral dislike for the flag and want to understand why? Even though I recognize it was designed with good intentions...

@squinky @PlanetaryKnight i mean the choices of blue and pink as it was designed were definitely heteronormative so your original feeling on it is valid

@PlanetaryKnight @squinky i had similar thoughts on the bi and pan flags, and their pink/blue, and even though i love them as color schemes they too seem to frame nb as inherently "in between"

@bug @PlanetaryKnight Yeah, with the bi flag especially, it's like "oh, we get a tiny purple line, great"
