Hey pals, I'm after a software recommendation for linux. I'm used to working with GIMP and Inkscape but I'm looking for a reasonable replacement for comic making software, like clip studio paint (formerly manga studio). Preferably something with easy panel and dialog bubble making in addition to layers and simple drawing tools. Extensive brushes aren't necessary but are useful, and custom fonts are kind of a must.

It's not pressing, I just like to keep my eyes out for open source alternatives to stuff I use.

I should note that I *can* do all of this on GIMP but there's a lot more work involved and if something is already out there that's more streamlined I'd jump at it =x

@er1n Not recently, in the past I found it useful for digital painting. Might be time to give it another try!

@PixelOccult inkscape is vector-based (i.e you can adjust things after you draw them much easier, like changing the angle of a line or its length), so it's better for typesetting and paneling. i've never made comics with it though, so take that with a grain of salt

@PixelOccult a comic-writer i follow used bitmap (gimp/krita) to draw comics, then typeset and paneled in vector (inkscape)
