there is a well known rapist (there are several but this is abt one of them) in the infosec/hacker community here. the husband of a woman he raped has done the bare minimum (refused to hang out w him or his supporters) but nothing else to call out the bullshit or publicly support his wife & his career has suffered quite a bit from it bc hackers don't have work/life balance & if u miss out on coke parties bc u don't want to hang out w rapists u don't get hired

this is common behavior across the US (also this specific story is an open secret that is withheld from newbie women bc hackers are rapey predators) & one of many reasons i won't interact w hackers or tech ppl unless they're paying me

if u interact w west coast hackers & are worried abt friends or urself i am happy to name names, privately
