My workplace is the kind where you address an email, "Hey, folkily dokes" and no one bats an eye.

Our children's librarian has a pink Mohawk today and I love it. I haven't had a chance to interact with her much since is this is my part-time location, but she seems like an incredible person.

@Paperclippe That's an aspect of my work life in which I am absolutely lucky. My coworkers are honestly some of my best friends. So every once in a while we get some noodles and then we rent a room at the karaoke joint and sing Eurovision tunes until we're blue in the face.

Library people are good people.

@Paperclippe But the last thing in the whole wide world I want to do, on a Saturday, during summer hours, is put aside an hour of my day to basically check someone's email for them. I just don't enjoy it.

But my student cancelled! So now I can have a quiet, short day at work, and it's a beautiful day outside, and I'm gonna find a coffee shop and transcribe some podcast episodes until my hot date tonight with my coworkers.

Good morning! My computer class cancelled today, which is excellent. It sounds wrong to say it, but I really don't like teaching. To be fair, that's... I mean that's literally not what I signed up for when I got into libraries - and as an aside, I spent a lot of time each day teaching patrons and helping them learn all about computers and information science.

Wine drunk verging on wine headache and starting to introduce a little romance (ooooooooh) into the fic, so I think it's more than time for bed.

Short day tomorrow, and then I get to sing my heart out with some of my best friends and coworkers, who are fortunately the same people.

The fanfic I'm currently working on is a modern-day retelling of DA:II. It's very pro-mage and queer. It's not very popular but I like what I'm doing so I'm gonna keep doing it, blood alcohol level be damned.

Anyway you folks seem to be into the wine and Dragon Age thing so I am currently writing a sword fight in my DA: II fanfic and drinking some sweet pineapple wine

Not sure how much to post here. If I post as much as I do on birb site, I feel like it's much too much. I'm sure it'll work itself out.

I JUST WANNA TALK ABOUT DRAGON AGE AND FANFIC AND WINE

Also, related to my prior posts but not worth of a CW - I had been cranking out words and chapters and thoughts and stories for the past few days and today I'm just staring at the screen, and I have nothing. It's only been one day. Hell, it's only been a few hours, but when I can't write fic, I mean, what even. Oh well. C'est la vie, this too will pass, life goes on, platitudes, platitudes.

But I'd been totally good since then. And then it comes back to bite me in the ass; I'm moody I'm tired I'm nauseated the smell of real food makes me sick so I'm only snacking and drinking juice - I mean, I guess this is a normal come-down from antidepressants (of which I am on a super low dose because I'm taking them for migraines and it turns out I hated the way they made me feel anyway). And then, bam. You know what you want? A cigarette. It's not the end of the world, I know, but it's... really discouraging.

The first time I quit smoking it was disgustingly easy. Went down from a pack a day to a few a day (got broke, long story, I mean really broke) and just stopped because of money and because of the wishes of my at the time new SO. And it was no problemo. Had a cigarette here and there at parties, I'm talking half a dozen a year. But with this election (pardon the politics) I got angry like I hadn't been in a long time, and picked up a pack as a crutch. Stopped again after less than a month. This time it was hard.

Feeling like traaaaash. Coming down off this amitriptyline is a bitch. Yesterday I felt like I could punch the fucking moon, but was worried I might have been slightly manic. Now worried I was absolutely entirely manic. I'm noticing myself... ticking. Tapping my hands against my legs. Tapping my fingers together. Chewed the ever-loving shit out of my lips, and as I walk walking home from work I had a thought that I hadn't had since... February-ish. "I want a cigarette."

Just played an impromptu guitar concert featuring the best hits of Eurovision at work.
