Looking for some good new math rock/post rock/ambient vibes that'll be good while writing. I love Do Make Say Think/Eluvium/Goldmund /Sigur Ros and all that sort of thing, but I'm trying to stay away from anything that gets too too loud because that really takes me out of a mood. Anything dark and spooky can be good as long as it doesn't whine too much, my ears are very sensitive. Thanks! <3 <3 <3
@PlanetaryKnight So my favorite math rock bands are 65daysofstatic (who actually did the music for No Man's Sky) and Do Make Say Think (and if you're going to listen to an album of theirs I recommend Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn).
Now, as with all music, some people don't consider these bands PURE MATH ROCK +insert pedantic flailing+ but it's pretty mathy to me.
@PlanetaryKnight LOL It's all good! I'm already familiar with so many bands in what's really such a small and blurry genre (that sounds really arrogant but the wiki page for mathrock is like less than a thousand words long) that it's hard to even find new stuff at this point - BUT I AM ALWAYS WILLING TO RECOMMEND BECAUSE IT'S SUCH COOL AND DIFFERENT MUSIC. Lemme know what you think of Do Make Say Think. I saw them in a tiny room in the upstairs of a bar once and it was so loud and beautiful I felt it in my lungs and I just cried for hours (in a good way).
