One thing I like a lot about the Japanese TTRPGs I've read is that stuff like character creation is often laid out almost like a technical manual.
Very no-fluff approach to the parts of of the game that are finicky and might be easily screwed up.
Also the game I'm reading right now (Double Cross) has a move where you just... magically disintegrate your enemy's telomeres.
That's messed up.
