Thank you mastodon for being open source. For not having annoying tracking, or advertising. Thank you Ostatus and GNUsocial for providing an open protocol and bootstrapping a network around it. Thank you other software in the federation for doing what you do. And the people behind it all: thank you for being you.
Ursula K. LeGuin's "The Dispossessed" is a great example of #anarchism (arguably #feminism too) in #art and is largely inspired by Kropotkin's classic tome "Mutual Aid." You can find it for free thanks to the lovely folks at libcom.org:

Sometimes a confused fax machine calls me by mistake because someone it works with told it I speak Fax. I usually hang up in disgust because this is Alabama and we only speak English, Spanish, German, and several made up nerd languages here, NOT Fax.
Today though, I decided to jokingly transfer the call to my fax machine. OMG, they had a whole conversation you guys. And my fax machine took notes and printed them out! Maybe fax machines aren't so horrible after all. I'm still not learning Fax.

"What does it look like when innovation processes don’t prioritize relationships? One example is when designers ask participants to offer ideas or to interact with a prototype in a way that is primarily transactional and that does not prioritize relationships for their own sake."
1 - While many crowdsourcing, open innovation, and consultation processes ask stakeholders to provide input, relatively few share power. Sharing power means distributing the functions of decision making, creation, implementation, and evaluation among the process participants, and dissolving once-rigid divides between designer and consumer, expert and beneficiary.

#Germany/#Berlin folx, a Question:
I'm thinking of staying at Jugendgaestehaus Hauptbahnhof, but it's run by the church. They're house rules forbids sexuality based discrimination.
Yet I am cautious. Is there any record/history of this hostel turning away same sex couples? Or not giving them a double bed/etc?
pls boost
