welcome to earth!!! convince people to give you money...................... OR DIE !!!!!

@tbreisacher Thank you! This seems to state rather clearly, that striving towards inclusive language is wanted. And at the beginning that not just psychologists should follow the guidelines.

another important care reminder Afficher plus

@tbreisacher Can you point me to something where they say it's fine? I asked my supervisor and he just said "APA says no" and I wasn't really in a position to argue. But I would still like to point him to that.

here's a hot being-cared-for protip: ask for things! even (especially?) things which aren't necessities!! asking for "silly" "little" things is an important trustbuilding exercise for more mission-critical stuff later imo!

A reminder for when you need to reach out for help:

You are not a burden for asking for help

Someone cares about you and wants to help

We all need help- not sometimes but often

You don't need to know what to say- focus on saying anything

You are worth helping

You deserve kindness, support, and love

You are not selfish for asking for help, we need and want you here 💚

This has been your reminder, often times we need them. Solidarity comrades ✊ 💚 💜 💚

@TallTallAlex @mimtschan The only language I get anything actually DONE is python 😂

@RobStorm Nobody else worked on any video on my channel with two exceptions (they have the word "Gast" in the title).
I made them from start to finish. If I mention something specific(text, shots) it was because I want to highlight those, since they are in German and context might get lost.

@RobStorm Hi! I run a YouTube Channel where I write, edit and produce essays and reviews.

All the videos are in German but you can judge the audio/video editing regardless.

For my Read Only Memories essay I edited a little intro from game footage, set to the game's OST youtube.com/watch?v=ivJJv7bd37

Here is a essay on Undertale with timecode, to show off the text editing I did in this essay. youtu.be/dDdPbC04AO8?t=47s

I have experience with compositing, keying, color correction etc if need.

w/ timecode, just those two shots in this video.

These videos are produced with KdenLive, Blender & Natron. But I also used the Adobe Suite for years.

@mimtschan Yeah I feel like this too when I see "<THING> is bad!" like I'm suppossed to know why? I do wonder how deep into how exactly languages work you are supposed to be to just intrinsically (=magically) know what that is supposed to mean.
I want to learn and get deeper into stuff but that is kinda discouraging, am I going to come out hating stuff too? I kinda don't wanna....?

you know another thing that i really like here? people aren't that religiously adamant about their opinions as developers i feel (tell me I'm just not missing those discussions please?)
i mean yes, there's discussion
but its not like "ugh programming language x is garbage because this and that"
because that's definitely the case at uni (amongst students, but sometimes by profs too) and tbh... i hate that? it intimidates me and makes me feel stupid for not knowing which languages (frameworks, systems... etc) are """good""" and i also feel like it's a bit difficult to say things like that generally?? different languages are good for different things?? no??

@serindelaunay Thats a fantastic idea 😀 I always want to participate at Jams but never had the time for one
