Enemy characters in video games never seem to doubt that they'll defeat you. I wish they would have some depth on this part
@saskeah I don't think there was anything specific that was preventing exploration. Just no "push" to do so, with the general lack of representation and gender topics in the media I consumed.
My main point is that genuinely liking that show was my deepest connection with something that was marketed/gendered female. I don't know if that alone would have been enough, just that a big part of that subculture tried hard to erase this aspect.
Also this is all in retrospect. My time with MLP might have still opened my mind to the exploration later on which led me to learn about my gender.
I mostly just had an interesting thought and wanted to share 😄

I always liked how thoroughly I could enjoy the MLP:FiM show. Going to one of the cons also felt similiar to how I feel now after realizing I was a demi-girl.
Without the brony thing I probably would not have gotting into it but if I had, I might have realized earlier that I'm not cis. But no, the narrative was "MEN like ponies too!" so I was just like welp okay I guess I'm part of this then.

@punsandpotions Nothing bad, just someone in the comments of one of my YouTube videos acting surprised that I don't tolerate bullying -- claiming that a fan of the Gothic games should naturally come with a tolerance to insults.
You may see how this got me thinking about what the Gothic games say about toxic masculinity.
