I have a maybe dumb question: Can a 3 1/2inch floppy drive be cleaned to improve read/write errors? Does it actually help? My Amiga 500 does not have a hard drive or anything, disks are the only thing it can boot off of and use. It constantly gives errors that are resolved by just trying again.
@NBLena cleaning was an important thing and there were kits to do it! There's also the possibility that the head needs re-aligned.
I am not the one to ask about how to do this tho ^^;
@rey I watched a couple videos and cleaned the heads of my drive with Isopropyl alcohol -- Read errors are greatly reduced! Still happen sometimes, but it's definitely better.
Unfortunately I discovered there probabyl is a battery in my RAM expansion that started leaking. It's in a metal case that is soldered shut so I think I will just replace it...
@NBLena cool! improvement is a thing at least ^^
