@lifning I didn't know he would argue with this, so I initially proposed it as a gender neutral generic pronoun I prefer to use in my writing, cause it's more elegant.
I. I don't want to out myself to him, but IF I did I could make the case that some of the subjects, as I participated myself, were non-binary. That would sure show 'em.

@NBLena would it be possible to just say "some of the subjects were nonbinary, so using 'he or she' would be inappropriate, and the APA recommends singular they in those cases," without outing yourself or anyone else? 🤔

If I wasn't a fundamentally non-confrontational person.
And the deadline of my thesis wasn't in five days.
