@magical I think, of everything, personal projects and passion writing are the most important, that's what my main webcomic is, and you're definitely allowed to polish personal prose too.

Rearranging relationships and writing out some of that bad would just have me retcon some personality traits of some characters, honestly, mostly of grumpy npcs and stuff

Like, back when Glacial was less open Einar just straight up used the word "Foreigners" which doesn't even make sense and it's a word I don't like to use ever anymore.

I looked back at my old writing and wow, some of the first drafts of even the new blog were kinda bad

@magical Perfectionism is probably the hardest habit in creativity to break, though, I'm a perfectionist and slow artist for the same reasons, and as such I really feel that pain. I don't really know the context of the works you've made, though, so I can't really offer much advice with work processes and stuff beyond what I've already said :<

@magical oh yeah, Definitely! Plus, once you present the idea or block as a whole to a friend or editor (depending on how you go about writing) , it's a lot easier for them to redline things when it's not just fragments. Heck, it's okay to even publish something then go back and make a sort of remastered edition, since you're going to improve at writing (or art) as you go through things.

@magical Something I learned with comicing and writing is like, sometimes you gotta just trust your sketches and drafts, cause when you go into final (production and writing) trying to go too far out of your way to perfect something can totally break the flow of it

Yuna's also a really strong character, if you ask me

I'm actually a huge fan of Tidus' character, since he goes from being a gigantic brat to growing into his destiny so to speak

What I really don't like is when people make racism a casual character quirk like
*👀 at Wakka from FFX* "oh he just has to get over his hatred for Al bhed" like, NOBODY yells at him over this.

@raindare Yeah, the main discussion happened before you came in, we've been discussing the sort of pieces of culture and things that pop up within there and how the police in Navroya are really shitty (cops suck everywhere even in fantasy). I think talking to the writers about this may be better since they're going to have more details about it

I have very mixed feelings about this in gloaming because like , "ha ha, these people are in the ghetto" but it's also like, we had to have a long discussion about how in reality that sort of thing stretches into every aspect of life, but it's also very clearly stated that Navroya is the bad guy place, so I tend to give it some leeway

(Semi hot take) Fantasy Racism is bad, and people tend to like, low key include it into their stories by othering groups (whether it's pokemon or otherwise) without actually understanding what this does

I am 9000% glad that there's like 800+ pokemon and that I don't really witness any plots about characters refusing to interact with each other b/c species (Except for like, Absol, but c'mon y'all)
