Sigh. I feel a bit better. Less anxious. I still feel like doom is hovering out in the distance but. Im aware its not all that rational. Trying to feel okay with myself this past month.

The reason why I think Cloud needs to not be set as the protagonist is because his character arc vastly undermined the whole narrative they set up in the first place. Barret is the leader of an impassioned group of resistance fighters trying to reclaim what little is left of nature from the environmentally destructive and hyper-capitalist Shinra corporation. I'm not saying like, entirely remove Sephiroth, but at least play him off as a minor antagonist representing the side effects of the injustices Shinra gets away with, rather than a showstealing Kefka-alike.

kind of losing my shit right now. anxiousness about school. anxiousness about my sleep schedule being fucked up. anxiousness about being alive. Awake. One time I had a big argument with my authoritarian friend about how the Protectorate are worse than the Faceless. Because in the game, the Faceless are an invading threat that ultimately are trying to find an item someone stole, and intend to leave immediately after they re-obtain it. They attack people as much as any other faction, or even less. The Protectorate on the other hand are also invaders, in that they establish hierarchy state control over previously anarchist settlements, and do not intend to leave, but to grow and assume control of all of Underrail.
