I do think punk is exploitative of an aesthetic, mentality, and subculture that is only accurately expressed in anarchopunk. From the beginning, bands like the Sex Pistols were largely operating as super capitalist marketing schemes to sell angry teens things and counteract any real culture jamming done by punk music.
@Mirzaba @vantablack all the original punks in the UK (I was a very young boy punk first started) initially signed to major labels like EMI (which made a shit ton of military and surveillance electronics too).
Although sometimes the mainstream didn't realise they were being mocked in the lyrics like this - which is actually being peformed on the BBC TV show Top of the Pops, I remember watching this as a kid..
