i'm at the point now where i think $12 for a specialty screwdriver actually isn't too terrible??

@KitRedgrave good tools can be well worth the money, though if it’s something that’s going to be used infrequently there’s always harbor freight. A rule of thumb I’ve heard is get the cheap tool first and then if you use it enough that it gets broken get the higher quality version.

Out of practicality, I find the best principle is to only use mono-taskers as a last resort, and to also search for something thats not exactly the cheapest but not unreasonable, cause a lot of cheap grade stuff can work against you. especially in cutlery and kitchen things. but also things like screwdrivers.

@Mirzaba @packetcharmer perhaps that's why you really only find screwdriver bits instead of full screwdrivers nowadays

Yeah I really love modularity. It works for 3D and design, and it works for tools and things. But it is a bit of a pain to store modular screwdrivers neatly I think.
