@Vann The ultimate irony of all this is that these fans are also usually self-proclaimed "fujoshi," aka "a fetishist who thinks gay men are sinful and therefore hot," leading to this horrible paradox of refusing to acknowledge canon (non-abusive) lesbian ships and then turning on a dime to fetishize every male character who locks eyes with another male character.

And ah yes, how could we forget that these people are usually also TERFs who fetishize trans women by calling them "traps" or, worse, "f**as"?

...Honestly the majority of the ultra-weeb anime community is hot garbage, but fujoshis are the WORST

Now, I'm not gonna give into purity politics and say that people who like ships that I don't like are abusers and should be burnt at the stake.

It does say a lot about the KLK fandom, though, that they're more eager to ship Ryuko with an abusive, manipulative sociopath or her literal sister than to put her with Mako, who canonically starts dating her.

Like, these people literally headcanoned that Mako is dead and has been replaced body-snatchers style by the aforementioned absuive sociopath. That's how much they want to avoid shipping a healthy lesbian relationship.

@agaric Yeah, the phone industry is really... inbred right now, for lack of a better word. Basically every flagship phone has the same internal specs, and basically every phone is jumping on Apple's "pay us money to use headphones" bandwagon.

So basically, everybody just mingles around comparing stupid gimmick features and phone durability, and people have decided that the pixel 2 doesn't have enough gimmick features to be considered a top-tier phone.

Side note, there's a big difference between the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL. They were made by different manufacturers and, by phone reviewer standards, should be treated like completely different phones.

KLK Shippers: That's OBVIOUSLY a platonic relationship. Just because they smooched once doesn't mean they're in a relationship. Besides, we're obsessed with Mako getting together with Gamagoori because it makes for better porn.

Ryuko and Nui: Kiss once, while Ryuko is being mind controlled, dealing with severe emotional turmoil, and they hate each other's guts throughout the whole show

@agaric I have one and it works really well for me. Granted, I'm not a phone expert.

The biggest complaint I've heard is that there's no headphone jack, but I use bluetooth headphones so I haven't had any problems with that. (It also comes with a converter dongle, so it's not any extra to use wired headphones)

@Amburu I didn't watch all of Yuri on Ice, so I wouldn't really know. I thought that, if it was fetishization, it was extremely low-key by Japan's standards. But again, I also didn't finish it.

Basically Hanekawa is great, she's my favorite character in anime ever

More trans/queer Hanekawa facts:

> Gets hit on by (and later takes an erotic shower with) her crush's plurisexual & poly girlfriend
> Refers to the aforementioned evil masculine emotion tiger as "sister," cementing her own identity even in the face of dysphoria and self-doubt
> When she meets the tiger, she thinks (quote) "Why am I not running away? ...I'd be safe if I ran. Why am I not running?" This is a metaphor for not "running away" from her own identity despite the inherent dangers of living as a trans woman in Japanese society.

@Amburu Japan seems to be trapped in a late-70s early-80s stereotypical perception of queer identity, particularly the way they conflate trans women to flamboyant gay drag queens.

Also, the fujoshi and/or yuri fetishization trends in Japan REALLY don't help. They're more or less 40 years behind the US in both queer representation and fetishizing/demonizing queer people

Evidence for this:

> Has an entire character arc about self-identity
> Abused by her parents for reasons never stated directly in the show
> Lots of self-loathing and repressed emotions going on
> The personification of her negative emotions and self-hate is a giant muscular tiger that speaks in a deep, masculine voice

> Dances in front of the trans flag during her intro
> Magical and perfect in every way, deserves to be loved

Reminder: Hanekawa Tsubasa (from Monogatari Series) is a trans girl
