Just a thing that irritated me last night and I can't get out of my head this morning: CWs are not tags. They are not to increase the number of viewers of a post - they don't act that way. They are to protect the reader.

Sometimes I might CW something in a way that you feel is an overreaction, but I do it so that people sensitive to that stuff (even if only temporarily) don't read it. If I see that the thing goes even near contentious territory and my brain is working properly, it will get a cw for that.

I should mention that the "other dude int he bar" was the lady they were looking for in disguise

I'm a little miffed at this because

1) they could have been more social with the proprieter
2) they could have actually looked through the reg book they found for the room numbers
3) they could have been social with the other dude in the hotel lobby
4) they could have staked out the hotel

like they went into one and I said "it appears to be unoccupied. The bed is well made and there's soap in the bathroom" and they looked under the bed and stole the soap and think it might be a clue???????

So in the game I'm GMing for on Sundays:

This last session, they were looking for a woman and knew the hotel she was staying at. So they went in and said "we need you to let us into this lady's room" without a persuasion roll or anything else, and then drugged and disabled the proprietor when she said no because "she was being a jerk"

Dudes and dudettes, hotel proprieters don't let random strangers into rooms. You are literally the sketchiest group.

So then they went through all of the rooms and are confused because they don't know what room was hers and stuff so I had to make up just... random hotel room shit.

It might seem like I'm having a drawn out meltdown on this account but it's really just a case of finally feeling a little bit more directed in self-improvement ways and lancing the boils, as it were.
