- drinking 2 L of water after I get home (3 L per day, I live in a desert and don't like having to pee at work so it has to be after I get home)

- not keeping (drinking) alcohol in the house

- maintaining the murder board. do one small thing a day, one big thing a week (ymmv).

emotionally

- telling people I love them - at least one friend a day

- complimenting strangers - at least once per week

for me, self care is

- leaving my liter water bottle full by my bedside before I go to sleep so I can chug it before getting up. It's annoying, but being hydrated before work is good and reduces migraine frequency.

- packing a lunch the night before

- making coffee the night before (and leaving it in a clean caraffe in the fridge)

- moisturizing 2x per day, sunscreen in the morning

- headphones whenever I leave the house

- setting half hour "go time" intervals whenever I need to get a big pile of work done and taking a break to stretch/get coffee when the timer goes off

so the other day there was a thing on my facebook about how most self care is - well, they used the word "ugly", but I try not to use that word, but "unglamorous". That is, despite instagram, self-care doesn't mean baths with pretty bath bombs and flowers and candles in teh background.

This morning it seems a lot of my friends are having a tough time.

So can we have a thread about the every day things we do to care for ourselves? In part to inspire/remind friends of ways to care for themselves?

I have physical therapy today but I really just want to stay in bed forever

@alice honestly I just wash money right away (with soap), spray it with cooking spray, then put it either on the hot burner or in the hot oven. The seasoning is smooth and black and my food doesn't get tainted with grey.

After a few months of that it honestly takes less effort to clean than any of my other pans (helped that it regularly gets heated to 400+ degrees so i don't worry about bacteria)

The worst part of cooking with cast iron is waiting for it to heat up when you're hungry

@packetcharmer the problem is less them pulling initially and more them pulling in the middle of fights

leveling dungeons were rescaled recently so the pace is a lot slower/you can't pull entire rooms at once, but certain inexperienced levelers will just keep pulling when you get in a fight
