@tek yeah much as I hate peppermint in all it's forms I will never not use a peppermint toothpaste because 1) association (minty = clean) and 2) basically half the reason I dislike mint is toothpaste so I don't want to ruin other flavors/smells

that said, a diluted clove oil rinse is a good mouth numbing thing if you have tooth pain (still better to, you know, go to the dentist, but good in a pinch)

the sexism I experienced as a kid was so pervasive and toxic I still can't entirely comprehend it

just getting not-very-subtlely redirected everytime I tried to play with boy stuff (or boys)

getting discouraged from certain hobbies because they were boy hobbies, or I'd have to do them with boys (like wrestling)

having gym teachers flatly refuse to believe I could lift certain weights, and other teachers similarly refusing to let me carry heavy stuff - emphasizing they were looking for BOYS to carry that shit

It's a complicated thing including the fact that queer spaces are often dominated by gay men and women in them are often assumed to be allies.

There's also a lot of not - so - passive misgendering that goes on if you're a sexual person uninterested in most male attention.
