LB: remember that if you DON'T trust your admin
if you use masto to communicate with people about stuff you wouldn't want a third party seeing, set up a protocol to move those conversations elsewhere
(I trust my admin not to fuck with me but I don't trust all admins universally and I suggest you don't either)

@Maenad It's not a matter of per se "not trusting" admins. It's actually also a matter of "need-to-know": If any information is abused for whichever purpose, all people who had access to this information per se could be held responsible for that. Thus, keep people from being able to know things they don't need to know.
@z428 this is a good point (although I know of at least one instance where an admin acted in bad faith against a user, which is what I was thinking of in my original post)
