argued with my boss about whether it was a left or a right eigenvector and couldn't decide so it's just... the eigenvector
(we did decide that the left eigenvector was hard)
@amphetamine to be fair, right is the stable age distribution and left is the reproductive contribution but that is NOT intuitive.
@Maenad wait though algebraically it's just row-major or column-major figuring, right? aren't right eigenvectors the eigenvectors of the transposed matrix?

@amphetamine Yeah, just the eigenvectors of the transposed matrix (or more abstractly, the adjoint linear map).
Row-major and column-major is jargon for how to store matrices in memory. It doesn't really mean anything algebraic.
