there are a myriad of mental health issues, the shooters with confirmed diagnoses have a variety of diagnoses. They have race and gender more in common than they do mental health status.

STOP OTHERING PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS. I GUARANTEE YOU KNOW SEVERAL.

@webmind honestly this is why I'm against anyone ever storing guns in their house (I'm also against private gun ownership but there's an argument to be had about people in rural environments hunting/warding off large animals)

it's not that people don't have breakdowns/violent spells without guns, it's just that things that could be de-escalated become lethal when guns are involved.

@webmind also it freaks me out how much the dialogue of "I own a gun so that if someone fucks with me I can just shoot them" is normalized in the US

(also why cops carry guns)

I just find it weird that this is about gun ownership and not in what kind of enviroment we raise children in what way. The response of arming teachers is just even weirder. A solution to an inability to raise children well is to kill the children? Wtf doesn't even get close
