Boss semi - officially put me in charge for this semester that he's away (instead of being de facto in charge like i was when he was here) . So far today I have helped a fellow post doc view the lab calendar and helped a grad student apply for funding. This afternoon I'm meeting with an undergrad to get her started on a research project.

... I also have an update meeting with my boss, where I'll tell him I made zero progress on my actual research.
