I really hate the "but they're suffering economically" argument for why people are alt-right.
I have been very broke (eating rice and maybe beans for every meal with the occasional egg broke) but I have never thought "MAN IT'S THOSE BROWN PEOPLE'S FAULT".
I get it. We need to change the way we treat the rust belt. We need to change how we think of Appalachia. We need to fix an economy that leads to disenfranchised young men living with their parents. But that doesn't excuse them from being fucking nazis.
uspol, money Afficher plus
@Maenad RIGHT. I mean, there is the thing that it does make them susceptible and that this is also the route to winning them back from the hands of these vile people, but it's no excuse. They can and should be reached.
But it also belies what we're seeing in the protests: a lot of these people showing up to the protests have money. They have *very* expensive guns. They're flying all over the country. They're from the suburbs, not Appalachia.
