Maggie @Maenad

also given that I have pentacle leggings and plans/supplies for pentacle tank tops so I can be full gym witch, what are the downsides to also being full corporate goth in the rest of my time?

@Maenad I imagine it runs into money after a while!

@kel sure but like... I basically only buy 3 colors of clothes and I need new pants anyway since I'm down to one pair so I may as well just shop goth as I replace what I have??

@Maenad *nods* it's reasonable enough...guess I'm just projecting a bit of my frustration at not having money for clothes *wry grin*

@kel fair enough. I'm not planning for a whole new wardrobe, just looking at shit like amazon.com/dp/B00QC5R0U0/ref=w and thinking it's not that unreasonable

@Maenad I can't think of a downside to "all my stuff is black and goes together"

I'm already at that point I just want to be more deliberate about it.

@Maenad To be 100% honest, if your job takes no issue with that outfit, nothing is standing in your way

@Maenad Which I guess is my way of saying "fuck 'em goth up the workplace"

@Maenad Potential downside: Some people would stay away from you in work-social situations. OTOH that might be a useful self-selection filter. Those people are probably not that fun anyway.

@benhamill people at work social functions can go fuck themselves. but also, hypothetically if my status is high enough they'll want to talk to me anyway and I'm focusing that super hard right now.

@Maenad I was thinking "lunch" not "happy hour", but your point about status is also well taken.

@benhamill in general I end up doing a lot of admin/workshop organization so I've never had trouble socializing with local colleagues. Farther away colleagues are rougher (because everyone prefers hanging out with people they know better) but I do okay due to who my boss is and the fact that I've been around long enough.
