lb: petition to make "not even william shatner can find me" be the next "I'm behind 7 proxies"
Laptop trackpad stopped working. Nearly had to take the rest of the day off before I realized my fingers were just too dry. Hydration + lotion!

stuff that was more common here when we were mostly a small bunch of lgbtq dev communism folks:
selfies
cws on Trump posts
furry art
ocassional random leftist critique
reminders ro drink water
the 'horney'
also the memes were more absurdist, like I really run amateur hour over here
@plsburydoughboy Content warnings (or "content notes," as I personally prefer to call them) are an awesome baked-in feature that long predates anyone who's complaining about it.
That said, I'm sure there's a way to get rid of them on your own personal Twitteresque free-for-all alpha Darwinian tech-libertarian Mastodon instance ❤️
follow bots suck because:
1. they follow everyone, which means your users get zero choice who to federate with at all
2. they follow everyone, which means if people want private toots to not be seen by everyone running a follow bot they have to block all of them
3. they follow everyone, even private accounts, and they have no memory of who they previously tried to follow, meaning they'll follow people over and over and over
4. they remind me of those birdsite BUY FREE FOLLOWERS spambots
Back when I was active on Usenet it was considered pretty normal to have house rules for any newsgroup, you were also expected to refrain from posting long enough to notice and learn the unspoken customs (this was called "lurking").
Nowadays people see it as an orchestrated attack against free speech, shout references to 1984, and threaten to move elsewhere.
Yet the ones asking us all to behave politely are called "hypersensitive"?
NB: I'm not chauvinistic, it's just that I have another account for English tooting.
Mixing them up on the TL only makes it more difficult to distinguish them and use them effectively.
=> I'll still love you - from the other instance. :p
alright i opened the spreadsheet document good job me time for a break

the sabbath is a pretty good name for the local timeline too cos it's like "ah a day of rest from the full awooniverse"
"The Cauldron", "The Raven", "The Sabbath", "The Crystal Ball"...
