@aprrrl @wire @kellerfuchs @Sylvhem There are no real differences, it's more that any phallic shape can be used as a metaphore, and some have taken and are more often used... :<
NB: verge isn't scientific, but it's definitely less vulgar. All the others are vulgar, by virtue of being graphic metaphors instead of a proper name.
It works the same with the testicles: pretty much any round object will work as a metaphor, from "les bijoux de famille" to "les noix", but some will be more commonly used than others. :<

@Louvelune @aprrrl @wire @Sylvhem It is my eternal regret that there is no kiwi-based metaphor (AFAIK) for balls in French: fuzzy, oblong, should not be squished unless you like making a mess.
